Campus is a place where students make their home in on the world wide web. I am a Reaident of this wonderful place and wanted to help out more so I decided to be a NG. EPISODE 1: THE NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDE
The Neighborhood Guides Job includes surfing an assigned street as in campus the streets would be physics, computing, Graphics, Harvard......Ect looking through sites to 1. see if the site follows the Fortune City Guidelines, 2. To advise of any html mistakes and see if they can help, And Finally 3. To recomend sites that show good creativity and skills to be SITE OF THE WEEK. *boom boom*
EPISODE 2 : WHY HAVE NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDES
The reason for the need for NG's is to help our Districts ministers keep our District clean of things such as Porn, warz, and hate sites. Also any successful community of such a diverse suroundings, Races and languages that we live in today needs to have a strong foundation of which to exist. We often call these foundations "RULES" with out them we are surely doomed to collapse. Not everyone is expected to like these rules this is normal in any orginization.
EPISODE 3 : HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
My colegues and I surf the streets of Campus looking at the residences that are occupied, for a couple things but basicly just looking in to see how you are doing at the moment, and to give any assistance we can. The local NGPA ( Neighborhood Guide Program Administrator) gives each NG a block of streets to surf. If a NG finds a site that does not conform to the FC Guidelines he or she sends a freindly notice ( e-mail) to the webmaster with a carbon copy to the NGPA notifying him/her of their violation and giving the enoughe time to correct the error or move to a diffrent domain [ ie: if someone has a hardcore porn page they would need to relocate to a sutible server that allows that FC does not] The NGPA follows up on the origional e-mail making sure in fact the site in question violates the rules, then the countdown begins the webmaster will have 7 days in which the webmaster is to remove the volation or move to a diffrent server. If this period of time expires and the site is still in violation of FC guidelines the NGPA will personally e-mail the webmaster asking them to bring their site up to "code" and will give another couple of days for them to comply. If they ignore this even further the NGPA can then recomend the site for removal to the FC staff at that time it is in the hands of the Regular FC staff.
EPISODE 4 : HOW TO BECOME A GUIDE
If you wish to participate in th Neighborhood guide program just follow these steps:
1. You must make your home at Fortunecity ( ie you must be a FC member) your site needs to bbe in the district you are applying for ( or at least one of them if you are like me and have many sites)
2. You are very serious about helping out in your district.
3. You are at least 14 years old
4. You are willing to surf your assigned block each day or two
